The Southington Knights are accepting cheerleading coaching applications for our youth cheerleading program. Coaches are expected to teach the fundamental skills of cheerleading, tumbling, dance, etc. All coaches are expected to go through a background check. If interested please send an e-mail to
Our cheer program is designed to teach the fundamentals of cheer as a fun and active sport as well as develop all girls to their fullest potential. Whether you are a novice or elite cheerleader, our goals are to encourage team participation, a desire to set and reach active personal goals and HAVE FUN!
Our cheer team will be broken down into squads based on rules and guidelines set forth by the Mid Connecticut Youth Football & Cheerleading Conference and at our MCYFCC coaches and board members discretion. Practice for all cheerleaders begins Monday, July 28th at Memorial Park. We will train and condition Monday thru Thursday from 5:30-8:00pm. After the start of school competitive teams will practice 3 times a week from 5:30pm – 7:30pm. We will cheer a game on Sunday. Practice and game attendance is important. If one person is not there, it affects the entire team.
Each squad will cheer once a week, for the entire season, at their designated football game. Cheer squads will compete at the local cheer competition in October, and if awarded the right to do so, move on to the State and Regional competition.
